The Studio
Since 2006, Crazybridge Studios has established itself as more than a widely-recognized graphics production studio for visual production of all kinds of projects — we tell stories. Though much of our work includes refined historical and scientific visualizations for broadcast and non-fiction media and high-action attraction films, we’ve created visual effects, motion graphics, and 3D animation across a wide range of subjects (and budgets), and written and fully produced films as well. Our award-winning team of artists brings to the table keen visual design sense and creative energy coupled with a deep capacity for research, precision, and clarity. This approach enables us to create breathtaking animations, motion graphics, and visual effects that are not only visually compelling, but accurate and accessible. Our facility in Pasadena, California houses a climate-controlled render farm that is highly-optimized to provide maximum throughput while minimizing energy consumption, and our production pipeline utilizes state-of-the-art software and proprietary tools.
Founder
Crazybridge CEO and Creative Director Christopher Gaal has been working in the computer graphics field for over two decades. As the leader of the design and animation teams for each project, he takes a hands-on approach and directs not only “big picture” aspects but also many of the minute yet important aesthetic details that have earned the studio its reputation for polished, concise work.
Prior to launching Crazybridge, Gaal started up and oversaw the in-house graphics division of Greystone Television, at the time one of the country’s most prolific production facilities for broadcast documentaries. Over the seven years he supervised the department, he and his staff produced main titles, show packages, and in-show graphics for over 50 documentary specials and series. Prior to his tenure at Greystone, he was a Visual Effects Supervisor at the acclaimed Hollywood design house Rez.n8, working on image campaigns for the CBS and FOX television networks.
Nominated for three Emmys in Outstanding Graphic and Artistic Design in 2006 and 2012, he received the Emmy award for his work on the series Big History in 2014. He holds an MFA in Radio/TV/Film from Northwestern University, and a BSC from the Ohio University Honors Tutorial College. He is a member of the Television Academy in the Main Title Design peer group and the Los Angeles chapter of ACM/SIGGRAPH.
